Presented by Music BC, SOUNDOFF is a platform for our most promising local musicians with a focus on song placement and sync licensing in film and TV. Local artists perform songs and connect with music supervisors at this expansive yet intimate live gathering.
Admission to the in-person SOUNDOFF session is by invite only. A recording of the event will be available on YouTube.
Music Supervisor, Salt-N-Pepa, Love Island
Aamina Gant is a music supervisor at Evolution Music Partners. In the past few years, she has music supervised projects for film and television including Salt-N-Pepa, Love Island, Genius: Aretha, Queen Sugar, and Sprinter.
Music Supervisor, Moxie Music
Janine Scalise is an independent music supervisor for her company, Moxie Music, a one-stop shop for music supervision, music licensing, and procuring original songs from artists. Currently working on The L Word: Generation Q and Better Things, Janine also has 14 years of experience as a music executive at Starz Networks. She has commissioned original songs from the likes of 50 Cent, Nick Cave, and Karen O, and has worked with composers including Bear McCreary, Kris Bowers, and Ludwig Görannson.
MUSIC DIRECTOR, Reminiscence, Godzilla vs. Kong, Peter Rabbit 2
Currently the music director at award-winning agency Wild Card Creative Group, Evelin Garcia got her start in the music industry writing album reviews for The LA Weekly while also working at the Sunset Strip’s world-famous Viper Room. She has music supervised theatrical advertising campaigns including Reminiscence, Godzilla vs. Kong, Peter Rabbit 2, and Soul. Previously Director of Music at Ignition Creative, Evelin has also worked with Warner Brothers, Pixar, Paramount, Netflix, and Hulu.
Music Supervisor, Anyone’s Game, Yo! MTV Raps, All or Nothing
Everton Lewis, Jr. is the founder and Chief Music Supervisor at Wracket Music Supervision whose recent projects include CBC’s Anyone’s Game, Yo! MTV Raps, and Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing. In 2010, this industry veteran founded EH! Side Music Supervision, a company solely dedicated to Canadian music syncs. Following the success EH! Side, Everton, Jr. became the Head Music Supervisor for VICE Canada and worked on projects including Dark Side of the Ring, Rat Park, and Tattoo Age.
AMP Co-Curator, Secret Study
Rob Calder is a VIFF AMP program curator and has been an active part of Canada’s creative industries for over 20 years. A co-founder of Boompa Records, Rob formed Secret Study after many years to connect musicians and artists with opportunities. As co-owner of the Canadian wing of internationally recognized Vaudeville Sound, Rob works in the world of audio post-production for film, television, video games, VR/AR, and animation. Vaudeville Canada has contributed to projects like Lovecraft Country, The Old Guard, Snowpiercer, A Long Way Up, and Thunderforce.
AMP Co-Curator, Senior VP Television Music, Sony Pictures Entertainment
Tony Scudellari oversees all aspects of music for Sony Pictures Television’s programming. Current shows include Better Call Saul, The Crown, Dr. Oz, Jeopardy, Shark Tank, and The Young and the Restless. During his tenure, Sony Pictures Television’s programming has been awarded for its music by the Guild of Music Supervisors, the Emmys and numerous ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC Film & TV Awards. In 2017, the Guild of Music Supervisors nominated Tony for Best Music Supervision in a Television Limited Series or Movie. He is co-curating VIFF AMP with Rob Calder for a third year.
